i really do not like thanksgiving. i do not like turkey. i do not like sweet potatoes. i do not like stuffing. i do not like pumpkin pie. i do not like mashed potatoes.
the funny thing is i do like all these things, just not in conjunction to one another, and not five kilos of each in the time span of sixty minutes.
i think my distain for this holiday came at the tender age of nine when i started having multiple thanksgivings in the span of 48 hours. from dad's to mom's table then grandpa's to aunt's and uncle's. it was more thanksgiving than any human should have in a life time, let alone in one day and a half period.
i do however love the brisk weather. i do like the warm colors. i do like my best friend being home. i do love cozying on the couch with a glass of wine and the lions' game. i do like meeting up for drinks with my friends who now live in different places and catching up like no time has passed and our address are still in the same 5 mile radius. i do like our annual thankskegging party. i do like sitting around a table sharing stories 30 years and 30 minutes old with family and friends. and i do like that thanksgiving is the beginning of much holiday time glam outfits, hair and makeup (okay, the ONE perk of multiple venues for the holidays...multiple outfits and pictures).
{glam makeup for plenty of photo ops}
{nude lace tights over plain black, brown cord mini skirt, love sleeve black v neck knit}
{vintage peacock feather clip for a pop of color}
