patriotic is an understatement.

yesterday was surreal for me. not only was it a decade ago my mother woke me up and told me there was an attack on a building I had never heard of, and could later never forget.. 

but five years ago my family was challenged to live without the matriarch who we adored so much. 

life has never been the same since either event.
